I figured for my first true blog I want to talk about something that’s near and dear to my heart; the television show “Friends.” The show always makes references to pornography and sex and I thought it would be a good way to get started since I am new to blogging. I posted a little bit of a transcript from an episode of “Friends” entitled, “The one with the Sharks.” The basic summary of this episode is that Monica goes to pay a surprise visit to Chandler in Tulsa, Arizona. When she gets to his hotel she walks in on him while he is watching pornography.. When she walks in, he quickly switches the channel away from the pornography and onto the discovery channel. She saw that he was masturbating and then saw the TV which displayed sharks swimming around. Monica in her infinite wisdom figured that this meant Chandler had some sort of Shark Fetish. Being that they are married she wants to do anything to please her husband. I think this brings up a wonderful topic for discussion. How far would you go for your significant other?
That’s not the only thing I wanted to mention about the transcript. You’ll notice Chandler says “I was just watching regular porn, just some good old fashion girl on girl American action.” I saw this episode a couple of times and when watching it the audience responded to this with a roar or laughter. Its funny how Lesbian porn has become as accepted as another national Past time like Baseball.

I saw that episode and it was hilarious! I laughed so hard because Monica can be a weirdo. I thought about her devotion to her husband and what she would do for him. Marriage to some is a sacred event and is supposed to last forever. If it was me, and that’s what got my husband going, then where’s my shark costume? Sex can become this big aspect in a marriage. It is what causes affairs and divorces. So in order to save marriage and keep it sacred each partner should devote what is needed sexually. As much as people may deny it, sex is a bigger part of the relationship. I am not saying that there are no other factors for marriage but many mammals do not have lifetime monogamous relationships.
Comment by safesex January 24, 2006 @ 4:13 amI think that when it comes to marriage and sex both partners need to be on the same page of what they are looking for sexually. Because YES sex is a huge part of marriage, (trust me I’m married). Everyone has their own standards of do’s, don’ts, and maybes and if they don’t match up with your partners you can expect cheating or divorce. When I say match up I don’t mean that you both have to be exactly the same, but both need to be open minded or both close minded ect. Sex can be hard to talk about sometimes but it is crucial to know your partners sexual desires and fetishes before marriage. If you know that they want things that you would never even consider doing maybe you should think twice before getting married to them and it saves you a lot of trouble in the future. As for how far I would go for my significant other, yeah I’d put on a shark suit. There is no harm in it, but I would never do something that went against my morals.
